Skipper’s Smokehouse, a live music institution in Tampa, has announced that it will reopen after closing last year. Residents were heartbroken when the hub for good beer and live music closed its doors. Tampa’s premier venue for live music since 1980 is ready to come back.

When did Skippers close?

The restructuring failed, and Skippers, Inc., was liquidated on June 29, 2007. Of the 58 stores remaining after Skippers initially filed for bankruptcy, approximately 14 were sold to various individuals and corporate interests through limited license agreements.
