De La Salle College was established by nine Christian Brothers at the request of Manila Archbishop Jeremiah James Harty. Brothers Blimond Pierre Eilenbecker, a Luxembourgish-born French director, Aloysius McGiverin of Gonzaga, the sole American brother, and Augusto Correge of France arrived on March 10, 1911.
