| HOAT (Hybrid OAT) | Silicates & Organic Acids | YELLOW |
| HOAT (Hybrid OAT, Phosphate-free) | NAP Free | TURQUOISE |

Is there blue car coolant?
Coolant (Antifreeze) can be found in more than 1 color. Colors include blue, yellow, green, red, pink, turquoise, orange and purple.
What does blue coolant mean?
When the light is blue, the coolant temperature is low. This is why it lights up blue when you start your vehicle. It will turn off when your engine gets to appropriate operating temperatures. It means your engine is close to overheating and you should stop safely and manage the overheating.
Is blue coolant universal?
Most conventional green or blue coolants use an inorganic (IAT) technology to prevent corrosion, that is, they are ethylene glycol or propylene glycol based. Several factors make them universal, most notably organic-acid technology (OAT), a uniquely concentrated single-component, multi-metal corrosion inhibitor.
Are all blue coolants the same?
GM, for example, uses orange-colored Dex-Cool antifreeze, while VW’s preferred coolants are typically yellow- or blue-colored, Hemmings reports. These different types of antifreeze all do broadly the same things.
Is Blue coolant better than Green?
Both coolants will work equally as well in your Nissan, so in terms of a performance benefit there really isn’t a difference. We personally would probably use Nissan Green as it comes in concentrated form (makes it a bit cheaper) and feel that changing the coolant more regularly is better for preventative maintenance.

Does the Colour of coolant matter?
The truth is, color is not a reliable predictor for what type of coolant you have. For example, OAT coolants are usually orange, yellow, red or purple. Then the older IAT coolant is green. Coolants that manufacturers sell can confuse matters even more, like Honda’s blue coolant.
Can I drive with blue coolant light?
This BLUE illuminated light turns off when the engine is warmed up sufficiently. The blue light will stay on until the engine has reached optimal operational temperature. While you can still drive the vehicle safely with this light on, it is best to wait until the blue light has turned off.

What’s the difference between red and blue coolant?
Antifreeze mixes with water to form a covalent bond to prevent the water from freezing. Antifreeze Blue is a full concentrate which meets BS6580 and contains the same pure ethylene glycol and anti-corrosive additives as the Red. Its application is for protection for up to a maximum of 2 years.
