The areas around WEM are mainly residential so no worries. Whyte Avenue is a nice part of the city – a somewhat funky vibe with shops & restaurants. With all due respect, Edmonton, and indeed all Canadian cities are generally much safer than most American cities – most crime here is non-violent.
