What is Celebrex 200mg used for?

Celebrex is indicated in adults for the symptomatic relief in the treatment of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. The decision to prescribe a selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor should be based on an assessment of the individual patient’s overall risks (see sections 4.3 and 4.4).

What are the most common side effects of Celebrex?

Common side effects may include:

  • stomach pain, heartburn, gas, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, vomiting;
  • swelling in your hands or feet;
  • dizziness; or.
  • cold symptoms such as stuffy nose, sneezing, sore throat.

How long can you take Celebrex 200 mg?

Muscle and joint injuries or after surgery. 400 mg as a first dose followed by 200 mg once or twice daily as required. You may take Celebrex for up to 5 days.

Is Celebrex safe to take daily?

Twice daily dosing is recommended; more frequent dosing does not necessarily improve response. Response to different NSAIDs can vary so switching types (for example, from Celebrex to naproxen) may improve response.
