What is a Lioness Club?
A Brief History Lioness Clubs are part of Lions Clubs International, the largest service organisation in the world. With over 1.4 million members in 44,000 communities around the globe, we take a ‘hands on role’ in improving the quality of life in the local community and the wider world.
Do Lions clubs still exist?
It is now headquartered in Oak Brook, Illinois. As of January 2020, it had over 46,000 local clubs and more than 1.4 million members (including the youth wing Leo) in more than 200 countries and geographic areas around the world.
What is the main purpose of the Lions Club?
Our Purpose To Create and foster a spirit of understanding among the peoples of the world. To Promote the principles of good government and good citizenship. To Take an active interest in the civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of the community.

We also give about $15,000 away to families in need (15 families @ $1K each) and do a blood drive.

What is MJF in Lions Club?
The Melvin Jones Fellowship (MJF) is the backbone of our foundation. Presented to those who donate US$1,000 to LCIF or to people for whom a donation was made by others, it’s a tremendous contribution to humanity and to the legacy of our founder, Melvin Jones.
How much does it cost to be in the Lions Club?
Regular members pay an entrance fee (US$35) and full international dues (US$43). Additional district, multiple-district and club dues apply. The Family Membership Program provides families with the opportunity to receive a special dues discount when they join a Lions club together.
How do you become a member of the Lions Club?
To become a Lion, you must be of legal majority, good moral character and good reputation in your community. Membership is by invitation. If you’re interested in being invited to join an existing Lions club: Look for a club near you.
