T-Mobile has owned MetroPCS since 2013 and changed the name to Metro by T-Mobile in 2018. Metro runs on (you guessed it) T-Mobile’s network and uses its towers to provide coverage. Metro customers also get access to T-Mobile’s nationwide 5G coverage.
Can I go to T-Mobile if I have MetroPCS?
No. T-Mobile and MetroPCS will operate separately, and MetroPCS will maintain its brand name and its customers.

How do I switch my metro service to another phone?
If you move your service and MetroPCS number to a new phone, you must put a MetroPCS SIM card in the new phone and go through the MetroPCS activation process. You can do this online or in a MetroPCS store. You can add a new MetroPCS number and line to your account by contacting the company.
