Is it safe to go to Yosemite right now?
Glacier Point Road is closed in 2022 for rehabilitation. When open (typically, spring–fall), road is open only to vehicles displaying disability placards. All others must cycle or hike to the grove from Mariposa Grove Welcome Center (near South Entrance). Feeling lost?
Can you enter Yosemite at night?
Yosemite National Park is open 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. However, the Hetch Hetchy Entrance Station is open only during daylight hours (approximately) and some roads are closed due to snow from around November through May or June.
Can you drive through Yosemite in a day?
You can definitely visit Yosemite in a day. A day trip gives you enough time to tour Yosemite Valley and Glacier Point Road, seeing some of the most popular attractions in the park.
Why is Yosemite closed?
The area is closed to prevent visitor injury and to decrease the potential exposure of NPS rescue personnel to COVID-19 due to rescue efforts. All Lower Yosemite Falls Amphitheater climbing routes in this area are open but must be accessed by trails or routes outside of the closed area.
Is the drive to Yosemite scary?
In general, the roads are fine – and worst thing you will find is being behind a super slow vacation recreational vehicle). If you are going to Sequoia as well this trip use 180 in and out of the park only (the road to 3 Rivers area is scary – and not worth driving.).
When did Yosemite open back up?
Yosemite National Park will reopen to all park visitors on Friday, September 25, 2020 at 9:00 am. Some visitor services will be available and other visitor services will open incrementally over the weekend.
Will national parks closed in California?

Never, ever drink water from a natural source without purifying it. The microscopic organism Giardia lamblia, as well as other types of bacteria, may be found in backcountry water sources and can cause a litany of gastrointestinal problems.
