Playing a ladder game as an individual is as simple as selecting the Play Game button at the top of the Battle.net interface. You can now choose your race, choose the game type you wish to play, and browse the maps eligible for use with the game type. Once you are ready to begin the game, select Play Game.
Does WC3 have a ladder?
W3Champions is a 3rd party global ladder where anyone from Europe, North America, South America, Asia, can load up Reforged and compete against each other in competitive tournaments, prizes and more. The ladder is separated by seasons, where each season lasts a few months long.

Game is much much better than at release, it’s just not blizzard that has made the major improvements. The caveat to the game being better is that you install W3C. It’s well integrated into the game client and gives you the best ladder and melee features wc3 has ever had.
