How To Care for Natural Chromexcel
- Dampen slightly half of a clean cotton cloth. Wipe worn or dirty shoes clean.
- Wipe shoes dry with a dry, clean part of the cloth.
- Apply Alden’s neutral fine boot cream with a light touch. A little goes a long way!
- Wait 1 minute.
- Wipe and Buff.
Can you polish Chromexcel leather?
First, you want a good horsehair brush. Chromexcel scratches pretty easily, but the “pull-up” nature of the leather means they can be buffed out pretty easily as well.

While the Alden 405 in a lighter brown calf/cow were was the pair that Indiana Jones wore, the Brown Cowhide leather appeared a too tan and light colored for me. I love the color depth with Brown Chromexcel!
