What is the difference between Git and ClearCase?
Architecture is the biggest difference between ClearCase and Git. ClearCase is centralized while Git is distributed. ClearCase has a file-based architecture (where everything happens at the file level). And Git has a hash-based architecture (where everything happens at the branch level).
What is a VOB in ClearCase?
A VOB is a ClearCase repository that stores file and directory elements. A ClearCase view can have zero or more files or directories loaded from a VOB.

How do I perform a ClearCase operation on Windows?
Note: In general, you perform ClearCase operations on Windows in a view context, on a drive assigned with the Windows net use command, or by clicking Tools > Map Network Drive in Windows Explorer. It is rare to work directly on drive M, the default dynamic-views drive.
What are the known issues with the latest release of ClearCase?
The following known issues exist in this release: HP and AIX systems can be upgraded directly to this release only from ClearCase 8.0.1.x installations. To upgrade from any earlier release on these systems, ClearCase must be uninstalled first and then ClearCase 9.0 can be installed. This is due to a limitation of Installation Manager.
