Bettas often use hammocks to rest. And, nothing is relaxing about a strong current pushing you off your leaf. Move your hammock to a nice, calm spot in your aquarium, away from your filter outflow, bubbler and anything else that causes water movement. Your betta will be much more likely to take to his hammock.
