You cannot walk around the whole of the lake on Paths unless you are able to scramble over Huge Boulders on the Eastern Side but you can walk the whole of the Western Southern and Northern edges and the views from the paths are incredible especially when walking on the south and west sides from Nether Wasdale.
How long does it take to walk Scafell Pike?
You should allow at least 5 to 6 hours even in very good weather. Allow extra time in bad weather as you will walk more slowly and the route will be harder to find. Experienced walkers might well do it in less time than this but if you haven’t got much experience on Lakeland fells then you are in for a hard day.
