Can you have just one dreadlock?
Absolutely we do! We’re happy to place as many or as few dreadlocks as our clients want. However, it is important to care for one dreadlock just as well as you would a whole head of dreadlocks! Even if you only have one dread, you need to at the very least keep them CLEAN and keep them SEPARATE!
Why do I get dreads in my hair?
Dreads form when hair that has malted, or fallen out of your scalp, tangles up with, and mattes together with your hair that is still attached and growing. If it’s a hair wash day, take a minute to brush your hair before you jump in the shower. The aim is to begin removing the build-up of malting hair from your head.
What are partial dreadlocks?
Partial dreadlocks are when you have some loose hair mixed with dreadlocks. The loose hair often wants to filter into dreadlocks so you have to make sure to keep it separate when you wash it but also to get the loose hair brushed so you do not end up with a large dreadlock.

It will be important to keep your straight hair out of your dreads and the other way around. The curlier your hair is the more attention this will require. Usually it’s not a big deal at all. You’ll just find your dreads after each shower and pull them way from any hair that’s not supposed to be in the dreadlocks.
Can you use Dread soap on dreadlocks?
The dread soap can be used on dreaded and undreaded hair so that makes washing them easy. You’ll want to take a second and squeeze the extra water from the dreadlocks because they dry slower.
Why do people get dreads?
Movement causes dreads. when the hair moves around, it tangles. When you wet it, it stretches it out, but then, especially curly kinky hair, it will then start to shrink up as it dries, if you leave it to do what it does. the shrinking up causes tangles and mats, the beginnings of dreads.
