Golf at Wentworth Wentworth Club has been known as the home of golfing champions since the precursor to the Ryder Cup was played here in 1926. Members and their guests are free to play all three of our magnificent golf courses and the privilege of walking in the footsteps of champions every day.
Why is it called links golf?
First up is the most famous type of golf course, the links course. The term derives from the Old English word hlinc meaning rising ground or ridge and refers to sandy area along coast. Links golf is where the game was founded as this sandy soil was perfect for the game and not great for much anything else.

Wentworth Club Overview A handicap of 18 for men is a must for the West Course and a certificate is required. Wentworth Golf Club is not accessible to visitors, only allows members & their guests.
How much is a Wentworth membership?
The £100,000 fee for full membership that was first announced last year is being retained, although those current members wishing to rejoin will be asked to pay an up front sum of £20,000 before June 30, 2016, with the remaining £80,000 to be paid before the end of 2019.
