Are there fake Costa sunglasses?
Costa is known for having some of the highest quality polarized lenses on the market, so if your lenses do not seem to match this quality, you probably have fake ones. Whether you have glass or polycarbonate lenses, they will always have a “580” or “580P” etched into the lens.
Are my Costas real?
The main way to verify if your Costa Sunglasses are real is by looking for etching on the top right corner. Depending on the lens you bought, different etchings will appear.

Are Costas made in China?
Costa produces frames in one of four countries (Japan, Taiwan, Mauritius, China), depending on who specializes in particular materials and construction. All parts for COSTA sunglasses are now made in China and assembled in the USA.

Why are Costa sunglasses not suitable for driving?
These sunglasses are limited wear, not all-purpose. Heed the warning on the box: “Not suitable for driving,” among other things. The lens heightens contrast with a yellow glow, so if you wear them in bright sunlight, you will see dots. Just not the good kind.
Are Costa glass lenses better than plastic?
Glass lenses offer superior clarity and scratch resistance, but are usually heavier than plastic lenses. Plastic lenses are lighter and more comfortable to wear all day long, but are much more vulnerable to scratches.
