Are Spectre intakes CARB legal?
Every Spectre intake that is made, must receive an exemption from the California Air Resources Board, or CARB. In order for the vehicle to pass the required smog check, it cannot have any aftermarket engine parts on it that are not CARB exempt.
Does Spectre make good cold air intake?
Good: Decent intake. Parts fit pretty well and instructions were very good for this type of product. All parts needed for install were included and of good quality.
How much power does a Spectre cold air intake add?

Yes, Spectre filters are more economical than K&N filters. K&N’s filters are more costly, yet surprisingly, Spectre filters provide similar results on a better price tag. The strength of K&N is the increased airflow due to its high-flow design and the washability of its filters.
Is Spectre made by K&N?
When we talk about these aftermarket parts, two brands that battle it out here are K&N and Spectre. In 2011, K&N sued Spectre for false advertising and won (news here). A few years later, they actually bought Spectre. So as far as I’ve seen, K&N owns and manufactures both brands right now.
Do you oil the inside of an air filter?
Remember to liberally apply oil to the filter. The oil’s purpose is to prevent dirt and debris from passing through. Failing to use enough oil is counterproductive to the filter’s job. Make you’re using application specific cleaner and oil for your air filters.
